326.04 -TRANSMOGRIFICATION

MACRODONS

it felt like the previous 'towers' coming out of the top of the MACRODON continued to grow, and the gravity seemed to flip upside-down, and with it, so did my sketchbook. This MACRODON is not a super-tall drippy creature with what appears to be an eye -that carried through from the past iteration.

326.03 -TRANSMOGRIFICATION

MACRODONS

The previous herd of MACRODONS, now seems to be reappearing sprouting through 'the Center' -it almost seems like a walking MACRODON city...?

326.02 -TRANSMOGRIFICATION

MACRODONS

The previous herd of MACRODONS, now covered by this drawing were a bit too plain, so, after re-reading DC comics "The New Frontier", I felt drawn to the dinosaur island villain's shape and used that for the basis of this MACRODON's form. See below (and that is Superman flying into 'the center'):

324.06 + 324.07 -via Photoshop

MACRODONS

and here are a couple of changes via Photoshop that I wanted to work out... most of the MACRODONS that came out of this re-working are quite rad.

324.03 (RE-DO)

MACRODONS

after a preliminary sketch from some research of MACRODON sightings in Florida, a mock-up of a too-humanoid looking MACRODON, and it's subsequent transformation, I tried for a more Godzilla-esque head, which was my original inspiration...

324

MACRODONS

very little remains from the first sketch for this MACRODON, it kept it's humanoid hand -now attached to a rubbery arm
(better seen in this second revision), but that is about it, the rest of it is sort-of-standard-non-descript, boxy MACRODON torso/frame.

327

MACRODONS

after a bit more work, the drawing was scanned -doing such a larger drawing (by comparison) was odd, instead of more detail work, I just used larger brushes/pencils/etc...

I have mixed feelings about the end result, but, I do like the cool snail-like shape this MACRODON has.

327 (lousy photo)

MACRODONS

I started this idea while on the beach, but needed to really be able to stretch out on a hard surface to work on it, here is a crappy photo of this 9-page drawing in my 2nd accordion-style sketchbook...
