335, drawing over

MACRODONS

those are weird little feet

MACRODONS

those are even weirder feet, almost as if little MACRODONS are attached to it's feet. And below, the mess of the prior MACRODON #327 drawing that this MACROODN and his weird feet replaced.

334, drawing over

MACRODONS

MACRODON or one-eyed squid?

MACRODONS

this section of MACRODON #327 didn't really inspire anything related to the original drawing I painted over.

333, drawing over

MACRODONS

this MACRODON felt like a nebula, or galaxy, or some kind of spacial entity, so I inverted the colors in Photoshop, and I think it looks pretty bad ass!

MACRODONS

not a lot changed between these two 'before' and 'after' drawing scans.

MACRODONS

just about the only things to remain from the previous MACRODON #327 drawing, are the dots and stippling that went on to become stars.

332, drawing over

MACRODONS

sometimes the process of drawing over MACRODON #327 was quite smooth, and certain shapes from the original section naturally gave way to a new MACRODON form.

MACRODONS

I began by covering up most of what I didn't want
from MACRODON #327 with a light wash, but as can be seen below, most of the details remain somewhat present.

330, drawing over

MACRODONS

I drew over MACRODON #327... I'm not entirely sure why, I suppose I was somewhat displeased with it... I broke-up the pages that comprised MACRODON #327 into separate MACRODON drawings, so, the next 8 posts will show a bit of the progression in this change that occurred. Above, the end result for this particular drawing.

MACRODONS

this was the first direction the drawing went in, but it seemed too literal, too much like a dinosaur, not much abstraction or anything left to the imagination...
and below, this is the dissected section of MACRODON #327:

MACRODONS

and flipped back, sketchbook right-side up again. This time I think this looks more like a MACRODON-themed chess piece for the castle/tower.
