344
the next concept I tried to implement is that of flying MACRODONS, but I am really not crazy about that idea... then I watched David Cronenberg's 1986 movie THE FLY, and this is what came out of the Telepod...

Due to the vague abstract nature of these weird drawings, at times I try to picture these MACRODONS in ways I did not initially intend them to look. In this case we have bean-shape + fin, but, after a while it looked like a side view of a MACRODON sticking it's really flat, really long tongue up into the sky.

There are a few ideas that were persistent throughout this set of drawings. 2 of them present here, I started several bean-shaped figures, sort of like this one here, & I was also trying to work out some ideas for things on MACRODONS' heads, see the last post for a strange anemone growth, and this MACRODON is really fuckin' punk-rock.

I had begun designs for MANY other MACRODONS in the past month or two while I also continued to make one MACRODON drawing per day. At times while working on a drawing, an idea would come to mind that may not have been relevant to the MACRODON of the day, so, many little scribbles, some more refined than others, were put away until recently -I refined these ideas a bit and now here they are. The next 20+ drawings complete the Moleskine sketchbook I started quite a while ago before I took a break and switched to the second accordion sketchbook I have recently been using.

337, drawing over
giant slug or MACRODON
BOTH!
?
what the hell?!
okay, this MACRODON (slug), sort of subconsciously spawned from thoughts of an awesome toy I just saw at the new Kidrobot store in Dallas. Frank Kozik's "Ride 'em Bob" a smorking labbit, on a smorking slug. Perfectly ridiculous. I LOVE IT.
this last section of MACRODON #327 (below) didn't really have anything to offer -aside from slug-inspiring subconscious Kidrobot memories.

336, drawing over
I flipped the drawing on it's side, because I don't really see too many MACRODONS flying, and one with this shape seems to need to be grounded by gravity, below it appears quite odd 'flying'.

I was having a very hard time resolving this drawing, at one point it seemed to want to go in two completely different directions, or are they 2 MACRODONS conjoined at the head?

see below for the direction the drawing didn't take, but I felt the need to attempt to resolve it via Photoshop by clocking out it's conjoined sibling.

it would appear that the last few drawings didn't really retain any significant signs of the underdrawing: MACRODON #327, just some dots...
