1 YEAR OF DAILY MACRODON DRAWINGS!

MACRODONS

Today marks the one-year anniversary for the MACRODON sketch-blog -which now includes way more than 365 MACRODON drawings, 425 posts, and many other random musings sometimes MACRODON related, sometimes not... whew!

+ "one to grow on" with
MACRODON #366 and it's tentacled arms, above...

Time for a little break now, I think...

I ♥ TMNT

MACRODONS
As made evident in the last few posts, I went off on my
for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and specifically the disembodied brain, Krang, the villain from Dimension X.

MACRODONS

In the newer cartoon, Krang has a weaker appearance
(and looks a lot like my recent herd of MACRODONS drawing)

MACRODONS

But, let's not forget April O'Neil -who was probably pretty high up on the list in my 8 year-old brain, as a reason to watch TMNT (as if martial arts, weapon wielding, humanoid, wise-cracking turtles in battle with weird aliens and mutated monsters wasn't reason enough)

so... Halloween...? Yeah, you guessed it:

KRANG! in 3-D!

My recent obsession with TMNT's Krang led me to many amazing finds, first is Speedlee's custom Krang & Android toy -visit his site to see many more awesome customs, including several more custom Ninja Turtles toys.

MACRODONS

it seems NECA announced several forthcoming Ninja Turtles toys. Here is a closeup of their version of Krang.

searching the web for "Krang" yielded this clever version of Krang + walker in LEGOS! by oneosendai2600

And lastly, paperfoldables.com has a fantastic downloadable PDF to make your very own foldable Krang + android, click! download! make! *and if anyone is clever enough to make a foldable MACRODON, that would be pretty freaking awesome!

365 = KRANG!

MACRODONS

Krang, also has a large humanoid body to move around in, it looks like a beefy plasticized neanderthal from the future with 1980s shades, a forked antennae, and with a compartment in it's mid-section for Krang. I didn't want to be too literal, so this is my interpretation of that TMNT villain as a MACRODON.

364 = KRANG!

MACRODONS

Krang, from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon
is just a brain (a brain with a face, and wierd tentacles) so, how does he get around? In adition to his mini legs (seen in last post), he also has a sort of walker, so again, in the spirit of MACRODON-izing Krang once again, I extended his body into the form of his walker device. *it looks like Krang want's to color MACRODONS with his purple crayon.

here is the Krang-walker in all it's plastic glory:

I drew this black ink mark from a similar smudge I had on my hand,
then I added some detail with acrylic white paint.

on an unrelated note, the Wolverine movie exceeded my expectations, it was fun, and the intro credits were stylized quite nicely, but, not as good as the intro credits for Watchmen. Ever so tangentially related, this MACRODON is a blob, but, not the same 'Blob' from the Wolverine movie...
