from these studies for "#157", I was going for the texture of #158 here, above,
and failed with this:
this just looks like a bad sketch for the bark textures seen a few posts ago...
So, I sketched out some lines in Photoshop with my drawing tablet from this scan/composite:
(here I took #158, and distorted it into the shape of #157,
using the exact same texture, and I think it turned out o.k.)
